There were 25 trees decorated by local businesses and individuals on display Dec. 8 during the Christmas tree festival at the 4-H Center in De Smet. This year’s theme was “Frosty’s Winter Wonderland.”

People’s Choice winners were Lyle Signs, Inc., best snowman theme; Kingsbury County Farm Service Agency, most creative; and De Smet Community Health and Dental, most beautiful.

The De Smet Community Women held their annual Christmas cookie sale.

of all ages. Santa has been at his job for a long time and surprised many children when he remembered the names of their parents and grandparents.

Several area businesses donated gift baskets. Chances were sold with proceeds going to the Kingsbury County Food Pantry.

That evening, The Outlaw Gang sponsored a soup and sandwich supper and rides around town on the Lebahn family Christmas train as a fundraiser for the Kingsbury County Cancer Walk.
