Plein Air Paint Out

All artists and spectators are invited to enjoy the spectacular weekend of artistry in De Smet August 11- 13, 2017 as the 9th annual Plein Air 'Paint Out' is held. All activities are free to the artists and the public. This is the longest running Plein Air event in South Dakota and is growing each year.
Plein Air has become a popular event for the public to attend and to purchase original works of art that are scenes from the local area. It is a tremendous opportunity to watch artists at work and for 'budding' artists to learn techniques and materials used by professionals. Artists of all levels and ages are encouraged to participate and to enjoy fellowship as you paint. Arrangements can be made for tours of the area prior to the event, if desired.
Pre- register and learn details by contacting Rita Anderson at 605-203-0216; email rita@desmetsouthdakota.org or susan.purintun@k12.sd.us. This event is sponsored by the Harvey Dunn Society.
